I can only get about 90% of the used grounds into the trash, so 10% daily are going down my kitchen sink drain and I'm worried about that. Also, because this basket has a solid bottom, the brewing liquid has to go sideways or up and over to drip into the carafe. I think this is creating residue that is affecting the taste of my coffee. I'm going to do a thorough cleaning of my coffee maker and switch back to paper for a while and see if I notice a return to the taste I remember.
