The kit comes with a male/male nipple that connects the two filter housings. It's made of plastic and mine leaked, even with plenty of teflon tape. I had to buy a brass nipple at a hardware store for about $10 to replace it. Lastly, it isn't too clear if you can order the housing with 3/4 inch, 1 inch, or 1 1/4 inch thread size. I didn't specify what I wanted and I received the one inch size. I had to buy adapters to step that down to 3/4 inch. Had I known it was available in 3/4 inch, I would have ordered that size.
