Heating is fast enough and it's nice to see it through the glass. The handle is far enough from the glass that you won't feel the heat so another good point there. The kettle works fine and turn off by itself when the water is boiling. I used to possess a Tefal 1.7L vitesse kettle and was quite happy with it despite the power button that had a tendency to turn off by itself.
