Quiet, Effective Large Room Humidifier This is a quiet humidifier that is effective as advertised for medium to large rooms. We use ours in the central area of our house, which comprises about 800 square feet, and it provides enough humidity in our dry climate to keep our wood floors from contracting and generally makes the room more comfortable. The mist is extremely fine, and the machine gives enough throw to keep the surface that the machine rests upon dry. It also has directional adjustments that are handy. Set up and refilling are a breeze. My only concern is that, like all of our previous humidifiers, I'm not sure if it will survive more than a couple of seasons of our hard water. If you use distilled water, the service life will increase, but I feel like it's cheaper just to use tap water and replace the machine itself more often.
