If you are looking for a plastic free electric kettle like me, this is not for you. There are 4 plastic parts inside the pot. ( see pics ) 1. Filter - removable 2. Bigger plastic piece that holds the filter - NOT removable and it comes in contact with water. I live-chatted with customer service and this is their response. "Thank you for waiting. That plastic piece that holds the filter is not removable." 3. Rivet from handle - above the max water level 4. 2 rivets inside of lid I gave 3 stars because it is very stylish and I am sure it works really well, I know because I own several KitchenAid appliances as you can see the built-in KitchenAid oven on my picture background. But sorry I am disappointed and returning this one.

I'd recommend the Aroma more. I find the KitchenAid's retro design and almost-all-stainless exterior more attactive, but I'm more interested in performance and bang for my buck. Excellent ergonomics and no-frills, classic design I previously reviewed a different kettle made by Kitchenaid (KitchenAid KEK1722SX 1.7-Liter Electric Kettle with LED Display - Brushed Stainless Steel) and find that this one is equally nice, but for different reasons. This model is slightly smaller, has fewer features (like electronic temp display, stay-warm function, etc), but it also boils water faster, has a nicer spout and handle, and has a unique, old-fashioned design that will look great on any counter.
