Beware Costco sells 2 for $119
I ordered this not realizing it was only one filter until I got it. I've always bought packages that contained two online. Costco online sells this identical filter for $119 for two filters. On the Costco website the description and model # are not the same so I called Blueair customer service to verify Costco was selling the same filter and Blueair said it was the same. When I received my filters from Costco the packaging is identical, without question the exact same filter. Thanks to Amazon's extended return time for items purchased during the holidays mine is being returned.

As far as the effectiveness of the filter itself I'm on the fence about it. I use my Blueair in a very small bedroom I use for a home office because I'm a smoker and when I polish my desk or clean other things there's still a ton of nictone coating them. I can't really say there's much of an improvement using the Blueair unit or these filters over the lower priced non-Smokestop ones.

The Blueair 200/300 Series SmokeStopTM filter serves as a replacement filter for the 201, 203, 215B, 250E, 270E, and 303 air purifiers. Specially designed for environments with heavy gaseous pollutants, the SmokeStop filter uses carbon, activated with magnesium dioxide and copper oxide, to remove tobacco smoke, ozone, VOCs in household paints and other chemicals, and odors. In addition, the SmokeStop uses HEPASilent® technology to remove 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.1 microns in size from your indoor environment. The gradient structured filter is ultrasonically bonded with fibers free of chemicals and binders, is naturally anti-bacterial, and fiber shedding resistant. It is recommended that you change your Blueair 200/300 Series SmokeStop filter every 6 months. Using an activated carbon filter in your air purifier can result in lower airflow and CADR.
Very good quality filter lasts 6 months.
While this filter is expensive, I can tell from using it so far that it will last the 6 months mentioned by the manufacturer. Also, the filter is large and well made with 2 lbs. of activated carbon, which is much more than many other filters I looked at. I tried the regular filter first and found that this one definitely provides extra 'oomph' and a better quality of air that I prefer.
