I got less than one week before it quit wicking! I always used filtered water. I tried turning it over and it revived for about a day, then by day 7 it slumped over into the reservoir. Perhaps having no net around it allowed it to slump, but not wicking is the big killer. Wish I had not ordered 5, but on the bright side by the time i use the remaining 4 our house will close escrow and we'll be headed toward San Diego where we wont need a humidifier, as opposed to NE Oklahoma. They've also hiked the price to the ridiculous level, higher than Walmart.
