Improved Design - Easy Repair
This is the second time in eight years I've replaced this door balance kit on our Kitchenaid dishwasher. If you hear a loud twang as you open the door and the door suddenly gets quite heavy, this is the part you need.

This latest kit is an improved design, as it replaces the top fixed cord guide with a second moving roller (you'll see what I mean when you compare the new and old parts). If you have this unit > Kitchen Aid Model# KUD102FRSS1 Take my advice: 1: Save yourself time and aggravation and don't even bother replacing the pully's. The replacement pulleys squeal loudly and no amount of any type of lube will change that. 2: Yes, the replacement cord is about 2 inches shorter than the original - pay attention... Get yourself some lamp chain, you know the "swag type" popular in the 70's.... open a link with some pliers and attach one link of chain to the end of the cord that attaches to the spring - close it back up. This will extend the cord by about 1.5"s - and attach the link to the spring. Try the door tension; if its noisey or seems a little too tight, add an 3/4"...
