Thank you Whirlpool and Amazon
Such a simple thing - but when we bought our house the cap was missing from the fridge filter and changing the filter became a dreaded, lengthy, involved hassle.
I don't know why it took so long for me to search on Amazon...but I'm glad I finally did.
No more pliers, wrenches - or cursing :)

Cheaper alternative works fine; don't forget to use the release button
The cap on my Ikea/Whirlpool fridge broke and I went looking for a replacement. After balking at the price of the black one (more than a Jackson for a piece of plastic!) I found this cheaper (but still not cheap enough) alternative. It worked fine and it's not like you really look at the bottom of your fridge that often, so I don't care that the color doesn't match. That said, I broke this one too because I tried to pull the filter out without pressing the release button. That was just dumb on my part, but the upshot is: Don't forget the press the release before you try to pull out the filter!
