Seemed good... but I don't like consuming chemicals (!)
I really don't feel like spending a lot of time reviewing a kettle, but I'm so irritated by the response I got when I tried to report an issue that I had to put something up on Amazon.

From the day we received the kettle there was a film/scum in the water... we thought it may have been from the (purified) water itself we were using, but then realized we never had this issue when using our old kettle or boiling water in a pot for tea (which we had to do for the few days we were waiting for a replacement).

We've also since been using a family member's kettle and there is no scum/film from the same water.

So, we emailed Ovente... and after several days finally got a response to my concern that there was a residue from the manufacturing process which was lining the inside of the appliance. Initially I was told it was the water... then I was told it needed to be cleaned... then scoured... or possibly cleaned every few uses by boiling vinegar(!)...
