Until now, I've been using the Bissell Spot Bot to do the immediate clean-up and a Hoover Steam Vac to clean rooms. What appealed to me about the Bissell Deep Clean Lift-Off Deluxe Pet Upright Deep Cleaner was that it combined both machines in one. Based on my first use, here are my initial thoughts. ASSEMBLY: Very simple. It is just a matter of attaching the upright handle to the base of the machine with four screws. (I actually had a hard time getting the screws to stay in but that is probably more a matter of me being hopeless with tools. My husband had to tighten everything up for me.) The one that came with my Kirby vacuum, which did nothing other than spread dirt all over my rug and a Hoover. I thought the Hoover worked pretty well until I got this one. Oh boy, this one is truly amazing!! I have 2 kids and 3 dogs, so my carpets need to be steamed cleaned at least once a month. Not only does it do a fantastic job on dirt and every day grime build up, but it gets rid of the dog smell that always seems to linger in the house once the carpet dries. I was so grossed out when I saw the amount of dirt that was actually in the water bucket. But at the same time knew it was really cleaning the carpet well, so was pleased.
