I use a lot of ice and was tired of filling up ice trays with my berkey filter, so I bought one of these for my fridge so I could take advantage of the automatic ice maker. Instant difference in the look and taste of my ice. As snobbish as is sounds...I can't stand to use ice or water out of anyone elses fridge that I know. As far as how much fluoride it actually gets out, I haven't had it tested. So, I really can't speak to that. They claim it's 75-95%. All I can attest to is the clean taste and look of my ice cubes and the water that comes out of the dispenser. It's perfect. I've had mine in there about 1 year, and it's still perfect. They suggest changing every year, or 1200 gallons. So that's about 3-4 gallons a day on average.
