This is a great kettle. I've used plastic electric kettles for years but with concern about plastics in the food chain, I purchased this kettle. The design makes the kettle very stable on the counter. Wiping the kettle down with a microfiber cloth will keep the brushed stainless finish looking fine. Instructions say not to use vinegar to remove scale that builds up in the kettle. I do it anyway as I have done in all kettles I've owned. Boil 1 part vinegar and 5 parts water in the kettle, let it rest for awhile, pour it off and boil a pot of plain water to get rid of vinegar and scale residue and kettle will run quietly and efficiently.
