A great kettle!
This is a great kettle. I've used plastic electric kettles for years but with concern about plastics in the food chain, I purchased this kettle. The design makes the kettle very stable on the counter. Wiping the kettle down with a microfiber cloth will keep the brushed stainless finish looking fine. Instructions say not to use vinegar to remove scale that builds up in the kettle. I do it anyway as I have done in all kettles I've owned. Boil 1 part vinegar and 5 parts water in the kettle, let it rest for awhile, pour it off and boil a pot of plain water to get rid of vinegar and scale residue and kettle will run quietly and efficiently. Enjoy!

Worse than the Russell Hobbs I used for 15 years
I had one for 15 years by this manufacturer. That one was durable and worked
every time. It still works but is suffering from wear. The new one is better engineered: no port in the lid to emit burning hot vapor; the handle is positioned out of way of the steam.

update 4-19-2013 - on and off switch failure under light use - loss of quality from last one - seeking alternative.
