For some strange reason, the OEM LG filter that came with the refrigerator is surprisingly much heavier than this one. Not sure if it's the deposits that were collected in the OEM filter, but it's much heavier and solid compared to this new one. Tastes ok with me. NO funny tastes experienced at all.
