The negatives are that it makes a weird noise when the water flows where I never noticed such a thing before. This is mildly annoying. This brand IS made in China (with whatever connotations that means to you). I saw other people considered this in their reviews. Long story short, I will likely go back to using the OEMs (or perhaps search for a different off-brand) after these (I purchased a 2-pack) run their course. The negatives with these particular filters, however seemingly small, don't outweigh the price difference, for me personally.
