I decided to try out and review this based on some spots on the car seats of one of our vehicles. It made a huge difference in the appearance, and the vacuum suction did a good job in pulling out most of the moisture. The lightness of the unit (comparitively speaking) made it simple to get into areas that would pretty much be out of reach for regular cleaners. I also tried it out on some carpet areas that had been "annointed" by our cats (hair balls, kitty puke, etc). Again, it got rid of all the stains, even those that hadn't fully been removed by the spray bottle and rag approach. Given the ease with which you can move it around, the clean-up is not such a daunting project as compared to having to fire up a regular steam cleaner. You wouldn't want to use this to clean a large area...
