I ordered these in good faith that they would have info within the packaging, but they are so generic it worries me. Please supply info so I can see what they will do and the install instruction....such as, how much water do I need to run through them before I can drink? Seller reply: The filters should be soak in water over night or let 3 gallons of water run through them. these are replacement filters thats why don't have direction they should be installed the same way the first was. I took the time to dissect both the original name brand Maytag filter that came with my Whirlpool refrigerator and this GreenFilter. They are similar but NOT the same. They are both activated charcoal cylindrical block type filters but the original Matag filter contains about 20% more activated charcoal. I'm not an expert on water filters but I would assume this means that the Maytag filter should filter more gallons of water before needing replaced. The owner's manual for my refrigerator says to replace the filter every 6 months. This and the fact that our family usage is low because it's just my wife & myself, I feel this filter is adequate for my needs so I will continue to purchase this filter. I rated it at 4 stars only because it contains less activated charcoal than the Maytag filter.
