New design not easy to clean
Most of the reviews discussed its features and performance and mine would be similar so there is no need to repeated here. However, I would like to point out one major flaw that you need to consider before purchasing this humidifier.

Over the course of 2 years, I have purchased 4 Pure Guardian H4500 models and one of this new H4610 model (all from Costco). The H4500 is larger and has rotary switches, while the new H4610 is smaller and has electronic push switches. Functionally both versions are similar. However, the construction of the new one is not at all conducive to cleaning. According to the brochure, the design uses Silver Clean technology to fight the growth of mold and mildew on the surface of the water tank. The problem is that mold or mildew ends up growing everywhere else, including the top cap where water mist exits, and along the reservoir where the ultrasonic element is located.

Mold and mildew is just a fact of life when dealing with any damp...

The 120-hour Ultrasonic Warm and Cool Mist Humidifier guards against problems caused by dry air in the home. It features an easy to fill large 2 gallon tank, ideal for use in medium to large rooms. Unlike other humidifiers that grow slimy mold on the water tank surface, Silver Clean Protection is embedded in the tank to fight the growth of mold and mildew on the surface of the water tank. Thanks to ultrasonic technology, it disperses a fine mist into the air, and is ultra-quiet making it ideal to have on while you sleep. The humidifier is equipped with the option for warm or cool mist and 3 speed settings. A low water indicator light lets you know when it's time to refill the water tank. It also features a soft glow night light, and a timer. PureGuardian humidifiers create a better home environment for those suffering from colds, allergies and dry skin. Note: Run time is based off of running the unit on low setting and cool mist, also depends on atmospheric conditions.
Quiet, works great, looks good
Our house (in the mountains of Southwestern Virginia) gets very dry in the winter, and we always set up a humidifier. It was time for a new one, and I did a lot of research before deciding on the Pure Guardian. One selling point was the 120-hour tank (even though many reviews said it didn't last that long), but a key reason for selecting this one was the claim that it was ultra-quiet (substantiated in several reviews). The humidifier arrived in perfect shape (thanks Amazon and UPS). It was easy to set up, and the tank filled easily and wasn't difficult carry when filled nor was it difficult to put onto the humidifier. The push-button controls are easy to understand and are well marked. As recommended in several posts, I also purchased a humidity meter (for under $10) and checked the humidity before turning the humidifier on. We turned it on medium (cool mist) and the humidifier worked as promised -- very, very quiet; humidity level went up 2% within a couple of hours; and the...
