Not too sure about this one
I'm not too sure about this product: yes it is cheaper, but at what cost?

On the plus side the brand listed on the label, "Aqua Fresh", sells filters in Australia and India where they have a web and distributor presence. The have neither in the US. However I noted that the box states they were "manufactured by Spaceflex International LLC". The only record I can find of that company is an office in California and a few lawsuits. One of which is for damages to a home caused by one of their filters. From the plaintiffs (State Farm Insurance) statement: “The mode of failure was consistent with design and manufacturing problems which led to stress concentrations that left the filter unable to withstand the internal pressure.”

The Aqua Fresh WF700 filter improves taste and purity of water for drinking as well as improving the quality and clarity of ice. This filter is a high quality, competitive alternative to the factory original. It features easy installation and operation and helps reduce chlorine taste and odor. if you are looking to reduce contaminants found in tap water and improves its quality, look no further! Made from renewable carbon media. Filter screws into refrigerator. The Aqua Fresh WF700 is compatible with the LG LT700P.

This filter is priced at a fraction of the original equipment offerings . . . but doesn't do as much . . . but that might be ok depending on what your needs and wants are.

This Aqua Fresh filter claims to meet ANS/NSF standard 42, which concerns reduction of choline, taste, and odors. It does not remove fluoride (which may be ok with you). However, it may also not remove undesirables like heavy metals or chemical contaminants, which the higher rated ANS/NSF standard 53 filters (the original equipment stuff) will filter out.

Various observations: Comes with brief instructions, a 30 warranty sheet, and a FAQ sheet. Among the information provided is the claim that the O-rings used are pre-lubricated and may be snug...
