Wow, it's been a month since my Sebo X5 arrived and am I impressed! I've owned several uprights before, but this is the first time I've bought specifically for pet hair removal from carpet. My choice came down to either one of the Dyson Animal products (which I'd heard of before) or this Sebo brand (which I hadn't heard of before). It was a real toss-up until I read the user comments on the two manufacturers' web sites. I looked at a Miele S7 too, but I felt that the build quality was not up to par (mainly the bag door and wheels) with the Sebo or Simplicity/Riccar. I've heard great things about Miele's canisters but, I thought their upright model was disappointing. Both the Sebo and Miele are made in Germany. The two I was most impressed with was the Sebo Automatic-X series and the Simplicity Symmetry Premium w/ belt protection.
