We have had all the ones that sit on the floor and have water in them to trap the lint, but are not very effective and create rusting of metal in the area where the vent is located. This is a dry, filtered lint catcher that has replaceable filters. It mounts to the wall, and the door is easily opened to be able to clean the screen and filter. It even has a flap on the top that will open when the back pressure builds up to indicate that the filter and screen need cleaning. Easy to install. Took only around 15 minutes and works great. Comes with screws and wall anchors for mounting. I highly recommend.

A Better Vent I've had my BetterVent installed for over a week now, and I'm VERY happy with the build quality, design, and performance. Initially, it seemed a bit pricey, but I'm definitely glad I bought it (and I’m GLAD it is made in the USA!). The release of this product came just at the right time for me. Over the years (decades) my electric dryers have never been very efficient at drying. I recently discovered that the original (mid-1970's) venting design was dangerous - 3" spiral flexible plastic running inside an interior wall, through the attic and hanging under a roof vent by a piece of wire. Recently, after noticing that the dangling hose had dropped down from the attic ceiling, I discovered it was mostly brittle and falling apart, even inside the wall space.
