There are very few manufacturers offering coffemakers that brew 6-8 cups, and if they do, the price is high and/or the footprint is as big as the larger ones. This and a few other models offer 5 cups. Keep in mind that the stated cups are only 5 oz. cups, so a 5 cup coffeemaker yields about 3 real life cups of coffee. I have tried most of the black and decker 5 cup models over the years, but this particular Mr. Coffee model is superior. It makes hot delicious coffee and does not drip when you pour it. It also comes with a permanent filter which is nice to have in case you run out of paper filters. I came here today to order another one as a backup, but the price went up from what I paid. Still a good deal, but I guess I'll check again after the holidays since I don't desparately need it.

The Best Little Coffee Pot Around! I am thrilled with this little coffee maker. There are only two of us and one cup will usually do, but then we want another cup several hours later. In our bigger pot the coffee is horrible a few hours later. After sitting there for awhile it gets bitter and strong tasting with sludge at the botton. I got so tired of dumping over a half a pot of coffee with the larger machine, and trying to make less coffee in it just didn't come out right. With the Mr. Coffee 5-cup pot we get two great cups of coffee, then it's easy to dump the used grounds and rinse out the pot. When we want another cup of coffee later on, it only takes a few minutes and we have fresh coffee again! It comes with a permanent nylon filter which I prefer to paper filters. It makes nice "hot" coffee and it has a pause function so you can pour a cup while it's still making coffee. It's just a simple little pot that works well. Did I mention...it's cute too! I give it 5 stars!
