It DOES work! I ordered this filter to replace my Samsung DA29-00020A filter as it says it is compatible. When I received it and tried to install it, I had trouble getting it to lock. I discovered the reason is that the B filter is a few centimeters shorter than the A filter. My husband did get it in and was able to lock it properly, and it does work with our fridge, even though there is a slight size difference. I spoke to customer service about it, who explained that the A filters were phased out (reason why I always had such a hard time finding them!). I sent photos in to explain my predicament and everything (see image), and they were very helpful explaining everything to me. I'm glad we were able to get it to work! Great customer service and Filter too Had an issue with the install initially, but called and spoke to David who explained (patiently), how to replace the old one. Once I managed to get it installed correctly everything was great. Water is clear and clean. Flow is great. Next time install will be a snap.

Inexpensive replacement that does the job well. I own a Samsung side by side refrigerator, Model: RS261MDWP, and the water filter # DA29-00020B is the correct, original filter to be used. This filter, although a little difficult for me to get in, works great! I admit, I neglected to replace our filter some time ago. The light changed to remind me, and I took the old filter out and forgot about it. I live in a suburb south of Milwaukee, and we have great water straight from the tap. But, when we have a decent amount of rain, our water plant treats the water, and it smells like chlorine for a day or two afterwards, which means my ice cubes can have an off taste as well. I didn't get that off taste when using this filter in our water, nor our cubes. I followed the included directions and soaked the filter for 15 mins. in a bowl of water before I installed it. I did have a hard time getting the filter to "catch" and lock, but I do have arthritis, so it's probably just me :) Glad I only have to do this twice...
