I have chlorinated municipal water, that greatly benefits from some sort of carbon filtering to get the chemical taste out. These filters last easily as long as the manufacturer recommends the Frigidaire filters be left in. I can push the genuine Frigidaire ones quite a bit longer if I ignore the instructions in the owner's manual, but these start needing replacement (because the flow slows down and the taste starts going back towards "un-filtered") after 6-8 months. I figure I'll rate them at 5 stars because while their extended service life isn't quite as long as the Frigidaire ones, they are typically half the price, and made in USA rather than in Mexico like the Frigidaire filters.

Well I had this for about 1 month now, water is still fresh so far so good. Even if it doesnt last for 6 I would be happy with 4. For the price I wonder why the name brand has to charge 4 times more for the seemingly exact same product????? HHHHHMMMMM will definately buy this again!
