I put it in my laundry room where the furnace fan circulates house air, and I can feed the drain tube into the water heater overflow pan, draining to the outside. I set it on Automatic (will bring down to 50% then shut off). The level began at 78%, and now it maintains in the low 50's. It is not too quiet with the compressor and fan (although no worse than a box fan in summer), but it is in a closed area and not an issue. All condensation is gone and the house feels more comfortable. Really happy with this purchase.

I could feel a difference in the air in less than an hour It runs quietly It was super easy to set up Cons: It puts out a lot of heat It seems to be running continuously. I'm wondering how this is going to affect my electricity bill. It seems to require a lot of time to turn back on after the water bucket is removed, dumped then replaced. The instruction booklet did say it would take 2 minutes. Sometimes it seems longer, either way it is a little annoying. If I could I would give it 3.5 stars. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars because of some of the cons I listed. I gave it a four because it does the job.

The reason for my lower rating is because it isn't as good as my last one (15 years old Goldstar, died in a flood). It doesn't pull the moisture as quickly but is fairly effecient. It is difficult to remove the water resevoir for emptying. My last one had a solid, heavy plastic tank in the back and a big, easy-to-use handle to pull it out. It also was enclosed except for a well-designed hole on the top in which to pour off the water. This unit's tank is just a thin plastic box, on the front, with no top/lid/covering-it's wide open. When it gets full, it is FULL to the rim. I absolutely can not remove the tank without spilling water (you have to tip the tank a little to remove it, by design, but tipping and water are not a good mix), and once removed, the tank won't sit level on the floor, so if you set it down, more water spills. You might be thinking, 'so, don't set it down'. Well, in order to pick it up, you have to reach into the tank and grab...
