I will be comparing this to my existing Frigidaire (FAD704) 70 pint unit. The RCA came well-packaged. It was easy to unbox and set up. Here are some observations I made with this unit. Pro's (compared to Frigidaire FAD704): A bit shorter and lighter in weight. Quieter when fan speed is at maximum. Lower power requirements (720 vs 765 watts). Nice range of humidity settings. Longer power cord. Con's: No handle on top, only sides. Shiny white plastic vs Frigidaire's mat, off-white plastic and more stylish design. Dehumidified air blow out the right side of unit, rather than the top. Continuous draining is slightly more difficult to install. The unit is nicely-castered for easy rolling. There is no remote for this unit. Once you've installed the drain accessory and connector tube, you need a length of hose having a standard female hose connector. The reason for my lower rating is because it isn't as good as my last one (15 years old Goldstar, died in a flood). It doesn't pull the moisture as quickly but is fairly effecient. It is difficult to remove the water resevoir for emptying. My last one had a solid, heavy plastic tank in the back and a big, easy-to-use handle to pull it out. It also was enclosed except for a well-designed hole on the top in which to pour off the water. This unit's tank is just a thin plastic box, on the front, with no top/lid/covering-it's wide open. When it gets full, it is FULL to the rim. I absolutely can not remove the tank without spilling water (you have to tip the tank a little to remove it, by design, but tipping and water are not a good mix), and once removed, the tank won't sit level on the floor, so if you set it down, more water spills.
