The first thing I noticed was that it was the big "made in China" sticker on the bottom of the box and there was no address or phone number for the manufacturer of the filter. When I installed it and started the initial purge, the water came out black, which I assumed was some residual charcoal from the filter during the manufacturing process. That said I am cautious as to the quality of this filter even though it shows the ISO and other certifications on the box. I have had other filters from branded manufacturers and the water always came out clear. I will try one and see, but just be aware of what you are buying. Given the cheap price it makes me think of the old saying "you get what you pay for".
