We bought this machine because we wanted to have fresh soy milk every morning. We've heard it's easy to clean prior to buying, and that is true except that we still have to be careful not to have the power connector in contact with any water when cleaning, not exactly fool-proof, but manageable. Another thing is more critical and why one star is deducted from my rating. The outside gets really HOT while the it's boiling soy milk inside. It almost feels like little to non thermal insulation -- very bad if you have curious kids running around (fortunately we don't, yet!). Overall, a good product, but the poor thermal insulation really makes it feel not worth its full $100 price. |

What I learned after the first trial was to begin cleaning the machine immediately after use. So as soon as I remove the lid I scrub it for a few minutes with the included cleaning cloth (they call it a clean bar in the manual). Then I pour the soymilk into a large glass batter bowl and I scrub the inside of the carafe. Doing it this way saves a great deal of time later as soymilk residue seems to be as sticky as gorilla glue, but comes off easily if you wash immediately. I decided to try the Breville even though it didn't have the E61 group head nor the proven track record of quality. The group head is controlled by an element rather than the Rocket's mechanical E61 approach. I decided to try the Breville even though it didn't have the E61 group head nor the proven track record of quality. The group head is controlled by an element rather than the Rocket's mechanical E61 approach.
