| Very good kettle I like this electric kettle. I got it because after years of faithful service, our previous Krups kettle finally wore out. This kettle heats quickly and is attractive. I like that there is a water level window on both sides of the kettle and I like the lever that turns it on. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is that it is a little noisy, much more so than our previous kettle. |

I just got the unit, and the directions are Okay, The only thing that really needs to be done is to unwrap everything, clean the water tube in warm soapy water, and rinse well. The only thing wrong is that there is no mention of the water filter anywhere in the instructions. My suggestion is before you inset the water tube into the water bottle and place it in the unit. Open the door look on the right side in the back. there you will see a round tube about 4 inches in length. un-screw it from it's base by turning it counter clockwise. take it out and un-screw the unit by holding the top and bottom and un-screwing it counter clockwise. take both half's and clean with warm soapy water and rinse well. Take the filter that comes with the unit and run it under warm water to wash out the loose charcoal residue that is in it. We are using bottled water that we pick up from the local Home Depot, but if you choose, you can refill the bottles with tap water and utilize the included Brita filter for better taste. If I had not read any of the postings I would never have even known where to put that darn thing or how to install it. Yes, you are absolutely right, the cooler is great, but the instructions, well, they suck. HOWEVER, I received my cooler just days ago and it is now installed. I'm very happy with the unit with the exception of a couple of items (outside of the instructions): 1. The area to place a cup is only large enough for a cup but not a hand-held water bottle. It is difficult to fill bottles. 2. The pre-filled water dispenser bottles you can get at large retailers such as BJ's are somewhat rectangular and do not fit in this unit without some adjustment. God's gift to K-Kups I completely agree with Jill's coments. There are a couple of flavored coffees I love and bought a couple of them 2 days before I received a Keurig coffee maker for my birthday. I saw the aluminum filter kit you could buy but then read some of the reviews and decided against it, A few days later I found My-Kap to reuse K-Kups. Works perfectly and increases your choice of brews. I empty the used, rinse out, dry, fill with my coffees, tap down and put the lid on. I line up the hole in the refilled cup to the prong in the pot vs making a 2nd hole and brew away. I ordered the 3 each of the colors and plan to order either another3 each or get the larger package. P.S. definitely saves money!!! |
| Cap-tastic These caps are pretty cool! Peel the foil tops off used K-cups and empty and clean them out and let them dry. Then fill almost to the top with your favorite ground coffee and press the K-cap in place. Don't force it too hard. Always check the K-cups as they will split after a few uses. The white cups seem to be weaker than the others. I usually make up a good batch of them and put them in the freezer until use. |
