This filter is listed as having NSF 42 and 53 fimtration standard. It is only NSF 42 compliant and it says that on the side of the filter so if you want metals removed, not gonna happen with this false advertisement. Even the 42 compliance is weak because I still taste chlorine in my water.

The worst part....the filter does not fit my refrigerator as an OEM part when it says it does and has leaked....causing my wood floors to swell.

Stay away from these filters!

The only refrigerator filter to include an accompanying silicone lubricant to ensure a leak-free seal!This filter should not be used with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality, without adequate disinfection before and or after the filter.This filter has been tested by the manufacturer against ANSI/NSF Standard 42 for the reduction of Chlorine, Tastes and Odors.
Don't cheap out and buy these Made in China water filters
After running nearly 10 gallons of water and through one of the filters, there is still stuff floating around in the water. And the taste is off. Should've known better. And these are made in China, for what it's worth. No website, not even a barcode on the packaging. If you search for the company you are just lead to online stores selling Chinese stuff.
Worked but needed improvement
I just replaced this filter in the morning, California is in drought.
The first bowl of water coming out of this brand new filter carries
some sort of blackish grayish residue. I forgot to take a picture.
I trust that they would not put anything toxic in the filter. My guess
is that the residue is just the extra carbon material they use to build
the product. I'm old enough not to worry about long-term effect on
my health. So, I just flush the system thru with about five gallons of water;
hopefully nobody here will tell the governor.
Come on people, you are building product for water to go into human body,
THINK and have a better quality control procedure.
Two stars for the two seals: no leaking.
