Really, really happy with this heater.
Last winter, I owned a Lifesmart heater that was nearly $250.00. It was good, but did not have a timer that allowed the heater to turn on before I get out of bed or before I get home from work. Also, the heater I had a year ago was one of those bigger box heaters. On this site, some guy does a video review where he takes one of the bigger box heaters apart (to prove a point about the quartz), but what it shows is how much space is wasted inside the heater! There must be a thought process out there, where a bigger heater MUST deliver more and better heat. Not true, as this heater proves.

This heater is compact and delivers the same, if not more heat than the Lifesmart I owned last year. It is encased in hard plastic, but always remains cool to the touch. It easily and quickly adds the needed heat to my apartment allowing me to save on propane. Sure, as mentioned in another review, it beeps when you change the controls. But you know what else beeps? My microwave, my coffee...

This heater features 3 of our metal wrapped quartz infrared elements, has a lifetime washable air filter and only uses up to 1500-Watts. All electrical components are warrantied for 1 year. There are 3 energy savings settings including an Eco Setting that will heat smaller areas to 68 degrees using only 500-Watt. The heater is surrounded by our stylish black fireproof cabinet. The lightweight heater makes it easy to carry from room to room to enjoy the benefits of zone heating. Dual Timer settings can be used to turn on or off the unit up to 12 Hours ahead.
A Good Heater for a Small Room
In checking the reviews on a number of heaters I decided on this particular heater, and I think I made a good choice. There are several reasons I chose this heater. First it is compact. I need it for a small room, and I didn't want one of those large box heaters you see so much of. This is less than half the size of those larger units. Second, it uses quartz tubes. The nice thing about quartz tubes is that there is no odor. I have come across several heaters using ceramic elements (all by Lasko), and I would not recommend them as they all give off some kind of odor. I not sure if it is healthy to breath in this odor; sometimes the odor can be irritating to my throat and lungs. Thirdly, it heats my small office just fine. The room I use it in is about 12 x 10 feet.

I love all the features this unit comes with. It is thermostatically controlled, it has a remote control (which controls temperature, on/off, heat level, timer, and Celsius/Fahrenheit), a temperature readout, low...
Overall, this small heater does exactly what I wanted.
First, it's infared, which I'd not used before. It does "feel" warmer, sitting in front of it when on compared to radiant heaters and seems to warm the room more. Second, and very important to me, when this heater is on I know exactly how much it's costing me to run it, unlike my former oil radiator heater. When running on low at 1000 watts it's using 1 KWh per hour, so because I know I'm paying a total of 11 cents per KWh I can completely control my bill. No more unpleasant "bill" surprises, it's my clear choice. What you cannot do with this heater is choose to run it at a 500 watt setting. There are NOT three power setting choices. When used on the ECO setting it will cycle through 500-1000-1500 watts ONLY after the room temp reaches the factory minimum ECO setting temp of 68 degrees or more. Meaning, the heater may/could run indefinitely on 1500 watts. I wish I had the choice of a lower thermostat setting with ECO. And I wish the timer could be set to BOTH turn...
