I have a PureGuardian 100Hr Ultrasonic Humidifier that I was having issues with the growth of pink biofilm soon after I bought it. These seemed like the best solution based on cost and other positive reviews on other sites. Got the pack quickly, did a thorough cleaning of the unit with a mild bleach solution to kill everything, and then let it completely air dry, just to make sure everything was dead. I added a stick, filled it up and...3 days later (about 3 tankfuls) the base had goo starting to grow in it again...which was exactly how long it took without the stick. I re-cleaned/re-dried the entire unit and added both sticks this time, and ...exact same result. 3 days later --> Goo. So the net effect is that I'm out just over fifteen bucks for the privilege of having two "silver" sticks that do...nothing.
