This is not a cheaper replacement for the filter, it is the same filter. I have been using PUR filters bought on-line for 5 years now and it is the same filter that came in the refridgerator when I bought it. Used this in a Kenmore fridge. worked fine First time changing filter. Not sure if all do this, but when i changed, we had extremely high pressure. Im guessing it was acting like there wasnt a filter in at all. Caused water to keep flowing a bit (without pressing). After that strangeness, took about 6 pitchers to get airbubbles out of filter, etc. Kenmore and Whirlpool are the samer thing more or less. Works fine now its been in use.
