I had to Keurig machines and had a lot of trouble with de-scaling. It got to the point where barely 1/2 cup of water was pumping out. To say the least, it's in the trash. I had perculator coffee before and would burn them up yearly. Hence, why I was looking for a basic coffee maker. In my search, I was intrigued as this was a dual purpose machine. I do like to have hot tea in the evenings so a perfect option. I had used a single cup for so long that is did take me a couple of tries to get the right blend; using Colombian coffee and 1 tbls per cup is perfect. Likes: 1. I love that it came with gold tone filter so no paper filters needed. 2. Programmable brew time and shut off time 3. Nice view of water level on left side of pot 4. There is two separate reservoirs for water and each came with a water filters 5. The hot water side holds 4 cups and warms up pretty fast...

Coffee good, water bad! The coffee maker works fine and the coffee tastes good. The hot water system however is loud, takes forever to heat the water and after six months of use the water still has that awful chemically taste that you usually get when first using a rubber or plastic hose. So unfortunately, I feel like I wasted money on this because I thought the hot water server would be a handy thing but it just takes up space on my counter-top next to my electric kettle.
