Seems Exact Functional Replacemnt The only visible difference with these filters and the Whirlpool brand is the lack of plastic end cap and flat rubber washers - which has been commented on here before. The media seems the same type and the recommended replacement is also 6 months. The sealing rings in the housing press against the filter directly, not the flat rubber washers as in the OEM style. As long as this does not create a leak path there should be no problem. I only want to trap sediment and don't need any more filter than this seems to provide.
