It's only been a week since replacing a Frigidaire FFAD5033R1 dehumidifier purchased in April 2015 (failed due to a leak in the sealed refrigerant system). After experiencing failed sealed refrigerant systems on two Frigidaire dehumidifiers (the first one - FAD504DUD - lasted a little over a year, and the FFAD5033R1 5 months), I decided not to buy another Frigidaire unit. NOTE: I am contacting Frigidaire to see what can be done with the FFAD5033R1 since it's still under the 1 year parts and labor warranty. The previous Frigidaire unit - FAD504DUD - was is also covered from 2 to 5 years under their Sealed System Warranty (like the newer Frigidaire), however this is parts only. When that unit failed, I contacted Frigidaire and they had me contact our local Frigidaire dealer and service center. They wanted $150 just to inspect the unit, and told me it would likely cost a total of between $150 to $200 to repair the unit. Hence, the purchase of the Frigidaire... |
