An earlier comment suggested this was in fact a PPM meter and I can see why. Most nutrient manufacturers make EC suggestions based on millisiemen measurements, ie. 0.8 - 1.2 for seedlings, etc. This unit actually delivers the EC reading in microsiemens, ie. 800 - 1,200 for seedlings, which looks very similar to a PPM reading but it's not. If you use this under the impression it's giving you PPM numbers you are gonna be way off. The good part, micro's convert to milli's very simply. A reading on this unit of say 1,500, for example would be a standard EC reading of 1.5. A 1,250 on this unit is standard EC of 1.25 (the reading divided by 1,000). It works great, gives the temp in C or F and came very quickly. I deducted the one star because there was no written explanation of the microsiemen vs millisiemen included with the item - which cost me an hour of research to discover. Also, the readout is smaller than I had hoped.

HM Digital AP-2 EC Pen Works great. It doesn't read in ppm but it is very accurate. I've been testing it every so often with a very expensive EC meter and its been spot on
