I have always been critical about the quality of drinking water, so I decided to buy a TDS meter to test the quality of this filter and found the following readings: Tap Water - 525 PPM Arrow Head Bottled Water - 327 PPM HWB101S - 604 PPM I can tell you that I followed all of the instructions on the setup manual. The typical drinking water should be under 500. This unit was setup correctly but it fails to purify the water. In my tests I found that the water quality deteriorated, this could be a direct result of the carbon filter, which releases small particles. when I set it up, I ran water from faucet for about 5 minutes until the black drips became clear as instructed. I feel that this unit fails to state exactly what it filters out other than Chlorine, and it is not certified by NSF. I am returning this unit to Amazon.

Also wanted to know how many stages of filtration it offers. Honeywell had no extra info and referred me to a subsidiary company to answer my question; they took ,y info and said a tech would call me within 24 hours - again with no extra knowledge of product. NOONE CALLED ME BACK. Honeywell lost a customer for life.
