I also wanted to use it on carpeted steps, and various pieces of furniture. This machine has not disappointed one bit. It is built using high quality materials; and IMHO, was designed to last for even commercial use. I've had mine 2 weeks now, so true longevity is not assured. But, again, it seems well built. The suction will surprise anyone who's used to older machines. (Like me!) Spray pressure is excellent; the heater works well, and - I love the fact that the pump is demand only. (Again, my other machine was older) Very light/maneuverable/portable. To top it all off, setup took less time than registering it on Mytee's website! Easy! Very glad I have it; and I highly recommend it.

And.. if you're not sure what exactly you want/ need out of a carpet extractor, I'd 100% suggest that you go with the mytee lite! This machine covers it all to get you started.
