After I purchased it, I decided to go to a few "all we sell are filters" websites to look for a cheaper price for next time or maybe some bulk options. I didn't find cheaper prices, but I did get some knowledge dropped on me...most of these filter sites state that this filter is a cheaper, inferior model. I was curious and felt a little hoodwinked by Samsung, so I did some investigating. To start, it is an official Samsung product. It is made in South Korea by Microfilter Co. (The DA29-00003G filter is made in Mexico by 3M.) I tried to verify why this inferior model is even being manufactured, but couldn't. Possibly there are less strict requirements in Asia, so Samsung commissioned this cheaper model to be sold mostly in Asia.
