It's a perfect fit, it seems to wick water well, and it has a metal mesh exterior that holds it's shape. If you are on the fence because this filter is not made by Essick or Kenmore don't be, this one works fine.

The wick is flimsy. The metal screen around the wick is flimsy and is a weak attempt to make up for the lack of density in the wick. Proudly labels itself as 'extended' life but we didn't get two weeks of efficient operation. I had bought a bunch of these based on positive reviews and we've been duped. I've taken to shutting off the humidifier when we are not home because the top half of the wick dries out after 2-3 hours of run time. After that time the humidifier just runs and runs because the wick stops wicking. A poor product that doesn't last and wastes electricity and humidifier run time. If you are running a kenmore 15412, recommend you avoid these wicks.
