While it does a great job initially, this product is too expensive for long term use. I bought these to use with my sonic humidifier thinking it would be quiet and take the dryness out of the air. I bought four of these, two from two different suppliers, and each one lasted about 10 days. We have two other humidifiers in the house and they each use tap water that we need to treat with a little humidifier treatment and they are noisy but cost far less to operate than models using this demin cartridge. Perhaps I have unusually hard water, but this product is too expensive for me.

I liked it first time I used. It is good to know that the water coming out of the humidifier is clean. However, second time I used it, it started giving off strange smell... After a few days of use, the whole room got nasty smell. Since then, I stopped using it. The only that cartridge I used might have been bad, but I do not have plan to use it anymore.
