When I removed this filter I looked closer at it and noticed it's made in China. Hmmmm. Could this be why the water tastes awful? Regardless, the store brand filter from the big box home and garden center filter makes the water taste fantastic. I feel that prospective buyers need to know this, because I can't express how bad this filter was. Wish I could say something nice other than it fits properly. The taste of my water has dramatically gotten worse since installing this. The OEM that came with the fridge was fantastic. This filter has my produced an odd chemical taste that just won't go away. I followed all installation directions to the T. I had hope it would go away with time, but no such luck. I can't recommend this filter.
