The newer ones are so much more quieter than the old ones. When I got mine back from the factory I was constantly putting my hand on it to see if it was running. It was just so quiet. This is one of the first items that I recommend for a chemically sensitive person to buy. When the box arrived all I had to do was lift the box off and plug it in.
