I have a lot of coffee makers, but this is a game changer. Mix a French press with dripper, utilize an inexpensive basket filters or #4 cone...you have the Cowboy Joe. How do i make coffee: Simply place the drain plug, drop in a filter, add coffee (I use 22 grams, but I like full bodied flavor) pour in 50-75 grams of 200 degree water for a 30 second bloom, add water to reach 310 grams (about 10 ounces), let it brew for 3:30, pull the plug to drain into a cup, toss the filter and drink. A great way to spend four minutes in the morning. The great thing about Cowboy Joe is how easy it is to customize the cup to what you like. Experiment. Find the coffee you desire, not what a machine thinks your cup should be. This brewer kicks the single cup k-cup maker to the curb. Your coffee, your ratio, your brew time. Just plug, filter, coffee, water, wait, drain, toss filter and sip. i'm looking forward to tomorrow morning already... |

Place a standard basket filter in the brewer. Set the brewer on top of your coffee cup. Add your usual amount of regular grind coffee. The suggested amount is 1⁄2 ounce ground coffee per 9 ounces boiling water. Add boiling water till about 3/8" below top edge of brewer. Pour the boiling water in the center of the brewer, so that the filter will not be disturbed. About 9 ounces of boiling water will give you 8 ounces of coffee in your cup. Stir thoroughly, so that all the grounds are in contact with the water. After 3 minutes, firmly grip the handle of the brewer, twist the plug, and remove it. The coffee will drain into your cup in about 30 seconds. Then, tilt the brewer slightly toward the drain hole to drain the last drops of coffee into your cup.George says: Pretty clever invention. Drain plug is just what was needed. This system allows me to adjust my brew to the desired amount/volume, and strength. Seems a little pricey for a plastic gizmo, but it's the concept, the invention, which matters. Easy clean-up. |
| Best coffee system so far I've been a coffee drinker for a long time, and now I am transitioning into being a coffee connoisseur. I've tried the Aeropress, which was a fun system to learn with. A little messy and time consuming, but still better coffee than anything I could buy from places like Starbucks. The Cowboy Joe was given to my by a good friend to try out. My Aeropress is now gathering dust because of this system. Simple to use, easy to clean, and one of the best gifts I've ever been given. I cannot recommend this system enough. If you really want to enjoy coffee, then buy this system. |
