This dual cartridge drinking water system has exceptional filtration / treatment capabilities. The 2.5 x 10 inch pre-cartridge is manufactured by KX Industries USA model #32-250-125-975. This carbon block cartridge absorbs chlorine, taste odor contaminants and VOC's (volitale organic compounds). It also has a dirt / sediment rating of 5 microns nominal and 10 microns absolute**. They are some of the best. Also,the unit itself is very well constructed. I have not yet installed it as it came with no parts sheet, no instructions, and I'm not a plumber so I have had to contact the seller direct. While cordial and responding usually about 24 hours later (send a question during the day and sometime the next day get an answer), I still am not a plumber and some of their responses and hand written out diagram won't really help me. I currently have a different unit that is an RO unit and I'm replacing it with this water filter (not an RO). The fittings I have under my sink now will have to be removed (one plugged and I hope I have the drain cap plug for it) and then replaced with new parts sent in with the unit. This weekend I will bite the bullet and remove the old and install the new. I hope I won't end up with either a leak from the removal and re-install of the new...
