Unfortunately, after installing and using for several weeks I confirmed it produced a distinct smell and after-taste to the water. I bought one by LG the LT700P, installed it and compared the taste from the two different filters just to make sure it wasn't my imagination. The water from the LG had no smell or aftertaste so I kept it and am returning this. Sometimes, you just get what you pay for.
