The FLD-80 stainless steel water / fluid filter housing can accommodate flow rates of 40 GPM and the maximum design working pressure is 150psi @ 200F. The unit is compatible with 4.5" x 20" cartridges which is an industry standard dimension and has 1" FNPT inlet/outlet. This extremely rugged liquid filter housing is made in the U.S.A by Shelco Filters- Middletown, Ct. Stainless steel is very corrosion resistant. It has sufficient amounts of chromium ( at minimum 16%) present so that a passive film of chromium oxide forms which prevents further surface corrosion and blocks corrosion from spreading into the metal's internal structure. A mounting bracket and wrench are included with this package. The KW4520SW cartridge is manufactured from a durable polypropylene cord that is wound around a rigid polypropylene core. The large exposed surface area gives this cartridge impressive dirt-loading capacity. Thus it can perform longer and more efficiently. The cartridge effectively removes dirt, rust and sediment and is rated at 5 micron. The 40 gallon per minute flow rates allow for residential, commercial and industrial applications. Also included with this kit is a spare o ring which is prudent to have to avoid an urgent situation. An o ring facilitates a water tight seal between the water filter sump and the water filter head. The most common o rings (o-rings) used in water filtration are made from Buna N material. Buna N is also commonly referred to as nitrile and has superior performance characteristics.
