We've had one of the programmable units for years and love it. However, the written description of the product clearly states "2-hour auto shut-off keeps your coffee hot for two hours and then automatically shuts itself off." THERE IS NO SUCH AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF on this model. You must buy the more expensive, programmable model to get the auto shut-off feature. It's a small complaint but the automatic shut-off was the reason that we bought this unit for use in a workplace where people don't always remember to turn the coffeemaker off at night. Now we have to go through the exercise of returning the product and re-ordering one that DOES have the automatic shut-off. Please update your product description.

Run it through the maker like you are making a pot a coffee. Once it runs through, rinse in the same way but only this time use water only. MAKE SURE A FILTER IS IN PLACE DURING THE FULL PROCESS IN ORDER TO CATCH ANY DEBRIS.
