I have a samsung fridge that takes this model replacement, typically I buy the samsung brand to stay with the recommended filter but since this was supposed to fit my fridge and it was offered to me to review I took the chance to review it. This item was provided free in exchange for this review. First off the filter looks very similar to the OEM one I use. That is until you look at the hole on the end where the water goes. I attached a picture, the samsung filter is a small hole this one is large and when I installed this "replacementbrand" filter water started pouring out of the fridge like crazy. I had to quickly get the filter off, clean up the mess and put the samsung filter back on and once the OEM filter was back in place I had no issues at all. Less than half the price. Installed and fit as with brand-name product. At less than half the price of the brand-name filter, I was worried this filter wouldn't be up to the task. I had changed filters before, using the Samsung filters, and nearly always need a pliers or vise-grip to remove the old filter, and sometimes need the same tool to install the new one. Nothing new here, and this filter is no less difficult to insert. The tricky part is that this no-brand filter is just a tad shorter than the brand filter so you have to push in farther to get it to seat properly to where its o-ring will protect against leakage. It pushes in to a point just beyond flush with the housing. Once installed (RF4287HARS refrigerator), I detected no leaks. Water taste is perfectly fine. The Samsung brand filter has some information relative to its ability to filter out certain materials. This product provides no such information though it states it uses the same type of filtration element as the Samsung. It would be nice to have additional filtration information, or...
